This article provides an overview of the current state and future directions of productivity research, highlighting developments in measurement (digital economy, intangibles, health care), firm-level analysis (frontier-laggard dynamics, reallocation), and the relationship between productivity and broader welfare outcomes. It emphasizes the growing importance of micro-level data and the need for international coordination in developing consistent productivity statistics, drawing on themes from the IARIW conference in Copenhagen and the IMF’s research agenda.
Cet article fournit un aperçu de l’état actuel et des orientations futures de la recherche sur la productivité, mettant en évidence les développements dans la mesure (économie numérique, actifs immatériels, soins de santé), l’analyse au niveau des entreprises (dynamique pointe-retardataires, réaffectation) et la relation entre la productivité et des résultats de bien-être plus larges. Il souligne l’importance croissante des données au niveau micro et la nécessité d’une coordination internationale pour élaborer des statistiques de productivité cohérentes.
