The paper argues that removing regulatory barriers across the economy could drive strong, sustainable, and inclusive growth while maintaining fiscal discipline.

Competition Bureau

Matthew Chiasson is an economist and Senior Policy Advisor at Canada’s Competition Bureau, where he leads major advocacy initiatives, including advising government on pro-competitive reform. His work draws on experience across domestic and international institutions, including roles at the OECD, the UK competition authority, and senior advisory and enforcement positions at the Bureau. In recognition of his contributions to Canadian competition policy, Matt received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025. He has an M.A. in Economics from Queen’s University and a LL.M. from the University of Ottawa.
