Many approaches are utilized in the provision of this information in OECD countries. This report examines approaches in five OECD countries (Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States and Australia) in order to assess their efficiency in facilitating adjustments in labour markets. This report finds that although Canada has well developed labour market information mechanisms, further efforts should be made by the Canadian government to improve our labour market information delivery system. In particular, attempts should be made to simplify information content, improve users’ awareness, and tailor information to the needs of users, in order to ensure that our extensive information system facilitates labour market adjustments. L’information sur le marché du travail (IMT) est un instrument de politique que les gouvernements utilisent pour coordonner les ajustements du marché du travail. De nombreuses approches sont utilisées pour la diffusion de cette information dans les pays de l’OCDE. Ce rapport examine les approches utilisées dans cinq pays de l’OCDE (le Canada, le Royaume-Uni, l’Allemagne, les États-Unis et l’Australie) afin d’évaluer leur efficacité à faciliter les ajustements du marché du travail. Ce rapport constate que, bien que le Canada dispose de mécanismes bien développés d’information sur le marché du travail, le gouvernement canadien devrait redoubler d’efforts pour améliorer son système de diffusion de l’IMT. En particulier, des efforts devraient être déployés pour simplifier le contenu de l’information, accroître la sensibilisation des utilisateurs, et adapter l’information aux besoins des utilisateurs, afin de s’assurer que notre vaste système d’information facilite les ajustements du marché du travail.
