This report reviews relevant literature and draws on successful examples of community engagement to provide information on best practices for recruitment and retention of Indigenous workers, as well as for creating partnerships in health, education and culture. In general, respecting cultural differences and consulting closely with local communities to understand their particular history, culture, needs and goals will help to build lasting and mutually beneficial relationships between resource companies and Indigenous communities. L’objectif de ce rapport est de présenter les pratiques exemplaires en matière de collaboration des entreprises du secteur des ressources avec les communautés autochtones concernées. Ce rapport recense la littérature pertinente et s’appuie sur des exemples réussis de mobilisation communautaire afin de présenter les pratiques exemplaires en matière de recrutement et de maintien en poste des travailleurs autochtones, ainsi que pour la création de partenariats dans les domaines de la santé, de l’éducation et de la culture. De façon générale, le respect des différences culturelles et une consultation étroite avec les communautés locales afin de comprendre leur histoire, leur culture, leurs besoins et leurs objectifs particuliers contribueront à établir des relations durables et mutuellement avantageuses entre les entreprises du secteur des ressources et les communautés autochtones.
