A number of indicators from the NAEDB report are used to compare Métis economic performance with that of non-Aboriginal Canadians in terms of employment, income, and education. In addition, new indicators of Métis socio-economic development are suggested for governance, land and resources, and entrepreneurship and business development. In short, this descriptive report provides an indication of the appropriate indicators to benchmark Métis socio-economic development against non-Aboriginal socio-economic development, while establishing a benchmark against which future progress can be gauged. Le Ralliement national des Métis a commandé ce rapport d’analyse comparative, qui s’appuie sur le cadre élaboré par le Conseil national de développement économique des Autochtones (CNDEA), afin de fournir des renseignements sur la mesure dans laquelle les Métis du Canada participent à l’économie et à la société par rapport aux Canadiens non autochtones. Plusieurs indicateurs tirés du rapport du CNDEA sont utilisés pour comparer la performance économique des Métis à celle des Canadiens non autochtones sur le plan de l’emploi, du revenu et de l’éducation. De plus, de nouveaux indicateurs du développement socioéconomique des Métis sont proposés pour la gouvernance, les terres et les ressources, ainsi que l’entrepreneuriat et le développement des entreprises. En somme, ce rapport descriptif fournit une indication des indicateurs appropriés pour comparer le développement socioéconomique des Métis à celui des non-Autochtones, tout en établissant un point de référence pour évaluer les progrès futurs.
