It finds that the ICT contribution to value-added and productivity growth, while modest overall at 0.25 per cent per year, increased to 0.36 per cent per year since 1995. The article discusses methodological uncertainties around the measurement of ICT capital, including differences in treatment of software between France and the United States, and argues that ICT investment is a significant driver of French productivity even if smaller in magnitude than in the U.S. Cet article estime l’impact des intrants en capital TIC sur la croissance de la production et de la productivité du travail en France sur la période 1980-2000, dans le cadre de la comptabilité de la croissance. Il constate que la contribution des TIC à la croissance de la valeur ajoutée et de la productivité, bien que modeste dans l’ensemble à 0,25 % par année, a augmenté à 0,36 % par année depuis 1995. L’article examine les incertitudes méthodologiques entourant la mesure du capital TIC, notamment les différences de traitement des logiciels entre la France et les États-Unis, et soutient que l’investissement en TIC est un moteur important de la productivité française, même si son ampleur est inférieure à celle observée aux États-Unis.
