The percentage of young people who do not attend school or work fell by 5.8 pctg points between 1976 and 1997. In 1997, it was at the lowest level ever recorded, at close to 11%.
The percentage of young people who do not attend school and are not in the labour force is also at its lowest level ever, at under 6%.
